don't try this at home

so yeah, you would have had an earlier update were it not for the great stomach flu epidemic at our house.

last week, alix came down with dreaded virus on thursday and stayed home all day (i got to do crossword puzzles and knit all morning! oh, the joys of unplanned time off from work!). by saturday, when no one else had come down with it, we thought we were home free. yee ha!

karma came back and bit us right in the posterior.

i*, then brian, then rory all got sick saturday night. and let me tell you how fun it is to have three sick people in the same bed all night. we were changing sheets and throwing them into the washer at 3 AM, in case we might need them later (note to self: maybe we need more than 2 sets of sheets for our bed, at least while we have small children in the house). pretty much every hour from about midnight to 5 or 6 in the morning, there was someone frowing up in the bathroom. and the next day, vector #2, aka alix, was happy as a clam while the other 3/4 of the family was trying to muster up the energy to interact with her a bit between sips of ginger ale.

we're all doing lots better...appetites and energy levels nearly back to normal. mercifully, the actual barfing portion of this virus was short, it the recovery that's taking time.

* yes, i know that sounds funny, but it is grammatically correct!
