many many things to post...

first off, steve and lis called us from CHINA tonight to say hello. they've got alice, their daughter and are really loving seeing her change and learn, even in the short time that they have had her. they got a medical report before they left, but they now think that is bogus, and it would have been better not knowing anything than expecting one thing and getting another. they were under the impression that she was sitting up already, but she couldn't even hold her head up, let alone sit up when they got her. but after a bit of time spent on her tummy, she got the hang of the holding up the head thing. she also has a little flat-ish bald spot on the back of her head (as did the other babies in the group), probably from spending a lot of time in a crib on her back. they get back in a week and we can't wait, tho we're not sure if we're going to have to give ourselves a week because of the SARS incubation period and they have to wear masks on the plane home. good luck keeping the mask on the baby, guys!

rory had a 15 month check yesterday and the best thing that came out of it was that she got the last immuizations that she'll need until she's about 4. yee ha! yeah, it was a tough morning for her-she woke up at 4:30 am, played, ate, got dressed, then got taken to a place when they poked her, prodded her, and gave her shots. she was exhausted and fell asleep in the car from the dr's office to daycare. managed to wake up long enough to have snack once she got there, then it was down for a long nap. anyway here are the stats for those that are interested: she's still in the big melon club with a head circumference in the 75th percentile. also still continuing on the little peanut growth path-29 inches tall (25th percentile) and 20.6 pounds (~15th percentile). brian and i were both expecting her to weigh about 25 pounds, but since she's now a toddler on the go,she's burning up the fuel.

we are well into mud season now-that's what a few days at 50 degrees and above, plus some rain will do for you. and because of all that, they have a flood watch out now. we're not that worried about it-but blood brook (down and behind owr neighbors houses) is running fast and furious right now. it will be interesting to see what happens to it in the next couple of days.
