and now the florence story.

lots of art, lots of good food.

we went to the accademia to see david by michelangelo, went to the uffizi to see the birth of venus, and the bargello, to see another david. also saw lots of paintings and sculpture and leftovers of fine living at the pitti palace. after the 3rd of 4th museo, i was getting museum-itis, especially-the-holy-family-and-religious-icon-itis. i mean, it was all pretty amazing and interesting to see the progression of style throughout the ages, but after seeing a few hundred paintings of madonna and child, they all start to blur.

ate at many little neighborhood trattorias around our hotel, and in fiesole (above florence). we also tried a restaurant near the piazzale michelangelo where the waiter sweated profusely and got our order (as well as the orders of those around us) completely wrong. that was not fun. MANY clients left upset that night, including us.

we did some shopping: shayla got a leather jacket to take to college, i got an inexpensive leather purse in the mercado, and rory got one of those cute little gold chain link bracelets that most of the italian babies have. i told brian we're not getting her ears pierced until she's 12 when he suggested that she needed earrings too.
