whenever brian and rory and i went on a walk with the dog in the summer, we used to pinch a few cherry tomatoes for rory to eat (we had permission) from our neighobors' gardens because she loves fresh tomatos or as she calls them, titos. this winter, the first time we went by those neighbors houses on a walk, she asked about the titos and we told her they were sleeping under the snow and would be back in the summer.

now, when we go on walks together (usually, only on the weekends when we're all home during the short daylight) she'll make some comment about the titos sleeping, and it always takes brian and i a minute or two to figure out what she's saying, even though we made it up in the first place.
