big news from Button land: Rory stood up by herself this weekend-several times! the first couple of times were just for a second, or a fraction of, but then yesterday afternoon, she stood up by herself for a good 10 seconds or so, sat down and then did it again. we all made such a commotion, she got a little scared. Zoe was over to spend some quality time with Rory, and she, brian and i exchanged high fives all around.

yes, we had lousy weather this weekend, but not nearly as bad as some folks in maine and connecticut. we never lost power and we pretty much had a fire going in the fireplace all day saturday and sunday, and saturday afternoon, i made a pot roast. pot roast is the greatest cold weather meal-it heats up the kitchen 'cos it's in the overn for something like 4 hours, it makes the house smell relaly yummy, and it's really good comfort food. there's a million recipes, i'm sure, but i've been using one from martha stewart (sorry-couldn't find a link). i wonder if it translates well to prison food...KIDDING!

stacey arrives later this week for a quick visit...yippee! plans: have a martini or two, play dominoes, eat good food, go see 'fame' (the sharon academy musical for this year), dance to some disco and hip-hop, and laugh, laugh, LAUGH!
