i've been checking out the usual sites (gap, old navy) to scout for clothes for rory for spring (and because she's growing like a weed right now). i also need to find some rain boots for spring, and am hoping to find some cute girlie ones for her easter basket (altho she may need them sooner as we've been going through a big melt thaw this week).

so anyway-i haven't looked at the kids clothes on line for a while, and OHMIGOD there are some cute things. darling little capri pants in cute prints and gingham, cute little slicker (but no matching boots damnit), and fun little swimsuits and espradrilles. one thing's for sure-this is the summer for her very first pair of salt water sandals. i think i need to win the lottery to buy all these clothes i'm drooling over for her.

so we have had a spot of warm weather-the past 5 days or so have been in the 30-40+ range. as a result, there has been a lot of snow melt, and the rain that's predicted for tomorrow should do away with what little is left. the big question is: is this just a teaser mud season and are we going to get slammed with snow a little later this month? it's happened before. only the shadow knows...

i'm getting bigger and more uncomfortable by the minute. i told brian this morning that i'm convinced that this baby is already about 10 ft long and it's just itching to spread out (judging on the simultaneous pressure on both my bladder AND my ribs/lungs).

we're contemplating getting a king sized bed (have i mentioned this before?) and we're going to do a test lie down tomorrow on a special kind of mattress called a tempur-pedic. supposed to be real good and comfy. the benefits? having room on the bed for brian, rory, the peanut, and me. and possibly a pet. the drawbacks? we will have to switch the location of our bed in our bedroom and won't be able to look out our windows to our lovely maple tree. we'll have to buy new bedding (the only bad thing about that is the expense-i LOVE buying bedding. but king sized linens are pricey! jeez-i never knew).

and another entry in the spending money and acquiring things department-i think we're going to get a DVD player this weekend. i've been wanting one for a while and they are so darned inexpensive right now i don't know how we can pass it up. plus, i think we will then join netflix. i figure-it will make my life much MUCH easier once #2 arrives if i'm not continually worrying about whether or not i have to watch something before it's due back. plus we can keep track of the movies we want to watch (if i understand the whole netflix procedure correctly). plus i could catch up on sex and the city and other TV shows i miss. you know, i live for pop culture, and that's been the worst part about not having cable-i continually feel like i'm not current. the internet and people and instyle magazines can only get you so far, girls.

okay. enough. i really gotta get a few things done now.
