busy busy weekend +.

saturday was the opening for an exhibit of photographs by our friend john sheldon (who passed away last summer). unfortunately, i did not get a chacne to really look at the photos because there were so many people there, and folks to visit with. i hope to go back on my own. the better part of the evening was later when a bunch of the family and friends gathered for dinner nearby. the evening was just spectacular and wonderful and not as emotional as i thought it might be. there is another opening of another exhibit this friday at the hood museum.

Sunday was a house concert by jerry holland at mike and lauries. rory started to have a melt down so we had to leave a little early (she had had a late night the night before), but what we heard before and during the concert was great. we had dinner with jerry and beth (ryan's fiddle teacher) before the concert so we got to hang a little with him. there is something about fiddle music that you prevents you from NOT tapping your toes while you listen.

yesterday was double dentist appointments PLUS a baby shower thrown by the folks at work. we got a few things we either didn't have or got broken the first time around, so that was nice. plus rory got to open up most of the presents, so that made her happy. last night she couldn't stand that the bouncy seat and the swing were both in boxes, so she 'helped' me put them together. i think right now she's more excited about the stuff that we're getting for the baby rather than the baby itself. of course, that's just conjecture.

so we're getting down to the short strokes on the pregnancy here. i had a premonition the other day that the baby was going to come a week early on memorial day weekend. which would be a bummer because val won't be here then. if it does happen, i've asked lis to be my 'second' in val's absence.

phew. that was a long one. i gotta go rest now.
